March OLOTEAS Services 2012 Feedback request
Hey everybody, Just a quick note on the March OLOTEAS Services 2012. I want to say thank you to all who came and participated, especially our guest ritualists and workshop presenters, and those who helped with work party and clean up. You all rocked! To those who made it to the event on Saturday; how was the day for you? the workshops? the ritual? the day in general? something else? We want to make each event as wonderful as we can so give me the good, the bad, and the ugly. You can either post to the community list or send to me personally (gasbarri at comcast dot net). To those who didn't make it on Saturday, you were missed! Hope to see you at another event soon! Dana :) Current Mood: content | | Monday, November 21st, 2011 | 12:16 pm [gasbarri]

Our Lady of the Earth and Sky's 7th Annual Community Festival February 25, 2012!
Our Lady of the Earth and Sky's 7th Annual Community Festival February 25, 2012! It is time once again for the staff of OLOTEAS to turn the spotlight on you! Concentric Circles in September features local Pagan groups that are part of our community, but operate separately from OLOTEAS, while the February Community Festival focuses on presentations from within our own little community. This does not mean that if you are part of one of these larger groups you cannot apply to present as an individual or small group. We on the staff recognize how richly diverse and talented you are! We want to give you all a chance to share this with the rest of the community. What gifts do you have to share? Do you have rare knowledge, such as an ancient language, a cultural dance, or a traditional story? Do you have practical magickal skills that you could teach us in a workshop? Have you taken any special training, such as first aid, orienteering, wilderness awareness, composting, astronomy, habit restoration, etc.? Would you or a group of you like to put on a ritual? Show us what you've got! Work on your presentation skills amongst your friends! If you are interested in being a presenter, please e-mail me at gasbarri at comcast dot net for the registration form and more information. If you think you may be interested, contact me ASAP so we can get you started. Please include a short description of what you have in mind for your presentation. The deadline for registration as a presenter is the January 28th, 2012 OLOTEAS event day. We already have interested presenters and I am really looking forward to hearing from you! I want to send out a big THANK YOU to all of the groups that agreed to come out and present and all of the festival volunteers that lent their aid at Concentric Circles on Saturday! Concentric Circles is an event that has long been close to my heart as it is a coming together of a lot of diverse beliefs and practices with a common purpose of creating community and sharing information. The staff of Our Lady of the Earth and Sky is so grateful for your participation! Dana Education Coordinator, OLOTEAS | | Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 | 8:58 pm [gasbarri]

The 13th Annual Concentric Circles presented by Our Lady of the Earth and Sky Saturday, September 24, 2011 The schedule is beginning to fill up with wonderful rituals, workshops, music and vendors. Currently we are expecting presentations from the Aquarian Tabernacle Church, Temple Ignis Aeternus, Horizon Lodge O.T.O, Bards of Caer Pugetia, Sean Ciall, Our Lady of the Earth and Sky, and music from Bards of the Koad and there will likely be more added in the coming weeks!! The event runs from 1PM - 11PM and often includes rituals, workshops, guided meditations, demonstrations and panel discussions from various local Pagan groups and traditions. Our Lady of the Earth and Sky invites all to join us for our June services. This month, we will work from a structure but create a ritual spontaneously together. The grounding, elemental calls, and evocations will be given by those who volunteer, with energic participation from all those who are willing. We will also determine the "working" (the intention) of the ritual during the pre-ritual discussion. Happy Summer! Hope to see you there! Community Discussion: “Pagans in the Wider World” (with Stephanie) How does your spirituality influence your day to day activities? What roles, if any, should Pagans play in creating the world we want to live in, outside of our faith community? Younglings’ Workshop: “Celebrating the Summer Solstice!” (with Dana) Join us for a discussion of the Summer Solstice and ways to celebrate the holiday. While we talk, we will be working on a sunny craft project to bring that solar energy into our lives. No meat may be prepared on the kitchen surfaces (pre-cooked meat is acceptable). No alcohol or other intoxicants are allowed at OLOTEAS events. You might also want to bring a towel for pool/hot tub use (note: the pool area is clothing-optional). Shoes cannot be worn inside, so please wear a pair that can be slipped easily on and off. We strive to do the main ritual outside, regardless of weather, so please bring layered clothing for colder/wetter weather if desired. Feel free to bring and play your drums or other instruments. Also, please note that, due to allergy and wildlife concerns, no pets are allowed on site (except service animals). Registration: For this event, we request a donation of $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for young adults ages 13-17, and $2.00 for children 2-12; this includes all aspects of the event. It is important for event and ritual planning that *all* people check in at the front door. Please do not arrive before 2:00 PM unless you want to attend the Stewardship Party at 10:00 AM. A Note About Children: This site features a swimming pool, hot tub, and numerous natural outside features that pose potential risks for unattended children; therefore, children MUST be under adult supervision (in line-of-sight) at ALL times during this event. With respect to the pool, an individual adult may be responsible FOR NO MORE THAN 3 CHILDREN (those 13 and under). Other than the kids’ workshop (when offered), there are no organized children’s activities, although there are games and crafts for kids. A Note About Noise at the Longhouse: The Longhouse requires that participants keep the noise level very low after 10:00 PM. Loud noise includes car alarms (so make sure your alarm is turned off), car muffler issues or backfiring (if your vehicle has issues, please park at the top of the hill parking lot), loud motorcycle engines (again, please park at the top of the hill parking lot), drumming or other music (if it continues long after ritual, please stop and ask a staff member if there is a space indoors where drumming or other music could continue until 10:00 PM), and loud talking in the parking lot (voices carry over to the neighbors’ property). Also, please be considerate by entering and exiting the site quietly. A Note About Parking and Carpooling: Please carpool if at all possible — there is limited onsite parking. If driving to the site, please park close to the adjacent vehicle, but be considerate of vehicles displaying disability license plates or signs. Once at the site, due to limited space and potential number of participants, we advise that folks leave most personal belongings in their vehicles. Directions: Take 520 eastbound to the Redmond Way/Fall City (WA 202) Exit. Turn right at the light at the end of the off ramp. Go approximately 5 miles on Redmond-Fall City Road . Driveway is on the right, 23301 (directly across from Guardwell Storage). If you pass Albertson’s, you have gone about 100 yards too far. When you first pull into the drive you should immediately see a large wooden sign that says The Longhouse; if you don’t you are in the neighbors’ drive. OLOTEAS Spring Work Party! Saturday, March 26th
I need you! Yes you! A hearty soul who loves the land and does not mind getting dirty to join me for the March OLOTEAS work party. We will end around 1:30pm and then we will feed you lunch! Who: Find Dana when you arrive and find out what we will be working on. When: 10am - 1:30pm, Saturday, March 26, 2011: If you show up onsite before the doors open at 2:00PM, the assumption will be that you are there for work party (and we love you for it!). Where: The Longhouse: We do not know exactly what our tasks will be but be sure to dress appropriately for outdoor yard work. Boots, gloves and a change of clothes tend to come in handy. Why: Besides the environmental ethic of Paganism and the fact that it is just plain fun, part of OLOTEAS' arrangement with the Longhouse includes at least a five person monthly work party. Also, if times are tight for you (as they are for many of us) and you cannot pay full site fee, helping with things like work party and clean up is a great way to contribute to your community. If you have special food needs for lunch (Vegan, no wheat, and so on) and you are coming to work party, please email me dana (at) oloteas (dot) org and I will make sure there is something for you to eat. Hope to see you all on Saturday! Dana :) | | Sunday, March 6th, 2011 | 5:30 pm [gasbarri]

OLOTEAS November event
Our Lady of the Earth and Sky invites all to join us for our November event. The event includes workshops for kids and adults, a potluck feast, an indoor pool/hot tub, and wetlands to explore. Date: Saturday, November 27th ~ 2 pm - 10:30 pm Where: 23301 NE Redmond-Fall City Road - Redmond 98053 (see directions below) Day Schedule: 10:00am Work Party (Please do not arrive before 2:00pm unless you are attending the work party) 2:00pm Site Opens 2:30pm Opening Circle (Stone Circle) 4:00pm - 5:30pm Workshop: Body Awareness, Ritual Awareness (Jane) 4:00pm - 5:00pm Kids Workshop: Divination! (Ruthie & Joshua) 6:00pm Potluck Feast 7:00pm Newcomers’ Discussion 7:45pm Pre-Ritual Discussion with Main Ritual to Follow 10:15pm Pool/Hot Tub and Shrine Close 10:30pm Closing Circle, Site Closes, Clean Up Presentation Descriptions: Workshop: Body Awareness, Ritual Awareness 4:00pm - 5:30pm Blockhouse (with Jane) Though we may think we are aware of our bodies, many of us go through everyday life less aware than we think. Believe it or not, as we grow older, we often become less aware of our body, where it is, and what it is doing. Becoming consciously aware of one's body can lead to a heightened awareness of energy during ritual and also reduce physical accidents and injury. Join us as we go back to baby steps and learn to listen to our body once again using simple exercises that can be taken home for practice. Kid's Class: Divination 4:00pm - 5:00pm Library (with Ruthie & Joshua) All under 18s are welcome to join us for our November Kid's class. Younger kids get to have fun experimenting with different simple Divination methods while discussing general ideas about our psychic nature. Older kids get to delve into a closer examination of the tarot, discussing the symbology of the cards as well as a couple different layouts for readings. November Ritual: Fear Into Action 8:00pm Stone Circle (from this month’s ritual writer and director - Stephanie) Fear can be a paralyzing force, keeping us from doing what we need to do or want to do to improve our lives and make the world a better place. Join us in the darkness as we confront our fears, burn them away, and take with us light to carry through this dark time of the year. What to Bring: Snacks for yourself, a potluck item to share, and your own feast gear (plate, cup, utensils), as on-site supplies are limited. No meat may be prepared on the kitchen surfaces (pre-cooked meat is acceptable). No alcohol or other intoxicants are allowed at OLOTEAS events. Directions: Take 520 eastbound to the Redmond Way/Fall City (WA 202) Exit. Turn right at the light at the end of the off ramp. Go approximately 5 miles on Redmond-Fall City Road. Driveway is on the right, 23301 (directly across from Guardwell Storage). If you pass Albertson's, you have gone about 100 yards too far. When you first pull into the drive you should immediately see a large wooden sign that says The Longhouse; if you don't you are in the neighbors' drive. The Rite of Mercury
Eleusyve Productions, who brought you The Rite of Luna (2005) and The Rite of Venus (2007) is pleased to offer you a preview in-concert presentation of their highly anticipated Rite of Mercury. Join in the splendor with us as Mercury and his officers invoke the Word, and he strives to impart the understanding of divinity. ... But will the players get the point before he gives up? ... And who will be chosen to take his place at the head of things? Come and find out how it goes down, and answer the age old question: Is it better to burn out than to fade away??? Eleusyve Productions, the dream-child of Fr. Jon Sewell and Sr. Melissa Holm, is an amateur theater group dedicated to the adaptation and presentation of Aleister Crowley's Rites of Eleusis (a series of seven ritual plays) as musical theater pieces. Using sound, light, movement, drama and magick to enhance the poetry and symmetry of the original works, we strive to make them more accessible to a broader audience. For more information about Eleusyve Productions and the full production of Rite of Mercury (October 1 & 2), visit www.eleusyve.com. | | Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 | 11:03 am [gasbarri]

Second Saturday Social: Seattle Tilth Harvest Fair, September 11
The harvest season is upon us, and Seattle Tilth puts on a fabulous fair to celebrate every year, so let's take advantage of it! This year's fair features an organic farmers' market, workshops on urban farming, and more...it sounds kind of like the Concentric Circles of sustainable agriculture! Even if you don't garden, it's a fun event and nice chance to hang out in a pretty park with some interesting people. Here's the event website: http://seattletilth.org/special_events/harvestfair2010and here's how to get there by car and bus: http://seattletilth.org/directions/wofficeandgardens (if you follow directions to their office, you can't miss the fair, which takes over the whole grounds of the Good Shepherd Center where they are located.) Let's meet at 11:30 at the Music Gazebo. Bring a picnic or enjoy some delicious food from the farmers' market. Post below to let me know if you plan to be there, which I hope you will!
